Facilitated Family Meetings

The conversation your family should not postpone.

Bring your family together. Talk today about the decisions that can bring you peace of mind tomorrow.

Three generations of a family talking together in the living room

Because a good legacy doesn't begin when someone is gone. It begins when a family sits down to talk.

More than assets, a legacy.

The questions no one wants to ask

Some conversations are uncomfortable…

  • ?What will happen when our parents need help?
  • ?Who will make the decisions?
  • ?What will happen to the house, the assets or the business?
  • ?Is there a will?
  • ?Is there a durable power of attorney?

Today's conversations bring peace of mind tomorrow.

The worst time to talk about this is during a crisis.

  • A hospitalization.
  • An unexpected loss.
  • An incapacity.
  • A conflict between siblings.

Planning ahead can change everything.

That is why we created

Facilitated Family Meetings

A private, structured space where families can talk about their future with legal guidance. At our office or in the family home, parents, children and siblings sit down together with an attorney who organizes the conversation, explains what the law says and turns agreements into a concrete plan.

We don't decide for your family.

We help everyone:

With clear legal information and practical solutions.

What do we talk about?

  • Caring for parents and planning for old age
  • Inheritance and succession in Puerto Rico
  • Wills
  • Durable powers of attorney
  • Assets and property
  • Decisions in case of illness or incapacity
  • Preventing family conflict

How it works

Five steps, one plan for everyone.

  1. Initial meeting. We talk with the person organizing the meeting to understand the family, its assets and its concerns.
  2. Preparation. Each participant receives a short guide with the topics and ground rules for the conversation.
  3. Facilitated family meeting. Two to three hours: everyone speaks, legal questions are clarified and agreements are recorded.
  4. Written plan. We deliver a summary of the agreements and the recommended legal documents.
  5. Follow-up. We prepare and execute wills, durable powers of attorney, trusts or agreements, depending on what the family decides.

This is not family therapy or a trial. It is a practical, respectful conversation for making decisions. If the family needs additional emotional support, we say so candidly and refer you to professionals.
